ENVIRONMENT & LIFESTYLE: Keeping the North Shore Country
Some North Shore residents have expressed concern that the Kuilima Resort will compromise the area’s rural character; in short, that the country will no longer be true country. And yet, we believe that our resort can only succeed if it promises guests a true country experience.
With that in mind, we are deeply committed to preserving a genuine rural lifestyle by, among other things:
-
committing to open space
- updating environmental and infrastructure studies
- creating a “biking community” starting with
the development of bike paths east of the resort
- establishing a Marine Life Conservation District
- preserving the shoreline ecosystem through water quality monitoring
- working with an archeological study and mitigation plan
- establishing farmers’ and artists’ markets
- protecting and enhancing the Punaho `olapa Marsh ecosystem
- applying for Audubon Certification for our golf courses
